Does anyone else think it strange that the new and improved Chamber of Commerce visitors center has even more local items - books, t-shirts, jewelry, pocketbooks - to sell than the previous location did on Bellamy Curve? I know the chamber needs the money but so do the merchants who sell the same stuff downtown! And the merchants can't offer the tax exemption the visitors center can because the chamber's a non-profit organization...that doesn't seem fair! Not to mention the visitors center gets first crack at the bus loads of tourists while the downtown merchants, who are dues-paying chamber members, have to hope the bus passengers make it into their store with any money left!!
