FWDG's 17th Annual Coat Drive is underway and ends February 29, 2008. They are looking for gently used or new outerwear in order to provide warm winter coats to those who cannot provide for themselves.

Donations can be dropped off at several locations throughout the Lowcountry, including:
· Furniture Warehouse Design Gallery (FWDG) at Perimeter Walk, Beaufort
· BedSmart Downtown, on Carteret Street in downtown Beaufort.
· The Patio Shoppe located on Hwy 278 in Bluffton
· Lew's International Menswear in Port Royal Plaza, Hilton Head Island

It’s a new time and a new place but the Friends of the Beaufort County Library kicks off its 22nd annual Books Sandwiched In program on Monday, Jan. 7 with the same stimulating entertainment, coffee and cookies.

For eight weeks, through Feb. 25, book lovers are invited to gather at 1 p.m. Mondays in the Sea Island Presbyterian Church on Lady’s Island for an opportunity to hear reviews of eight best sellers or books of local interest.

Committee chairwomen for the Books Sandwiched In program are Marilyn Harcharik and Heather Jarvis.
